Summer Camps
The following summer camps will be offered in June and July 2025. This registration link will allow you to select the camps for which you would like to register your student(s). You will be required to register each of your students separately. Camps are available for both grammar and secondary students. All camps (except Wilderness Survival) will be taking place at Providence Classical Christian School.
All camps have a base cost of $140, and some camps charge an additional supply fee.
Registration for all camps will close on Friday, May 30th at 8:00 PM.

Incoming K to 2nd: Lower Grammar Music with Miss Berger
I am excited to offer a K-3 music summer camp this year! We will spend four days exploring fun and enriching activities such as Musical Zoo, where we will create animal sounds with different instruments; Music & Movement, combining kinesthetic learning with aural and vocal exploration; as well as games such as Rhythm Bingo, Melody Detective, and Sound Collage. God has richly blessed us with music, and we will have a fantastic time praising and glorifying our Lord through sound, song, and movement with an engaging and easy-to-learn repertoire.

Incoming 4th-6th Grade: Once Upon a Stage with Ms. Harwood and Mrs. Pedersen
Where stories leap off the page and onto the stage! Campers will adapt beloved children’s tales into an exciting live performance, discovering the magic of storytelling through acting, movement, and creativity.

Incoming 1st to 3rd Grade: Reading and Spelling Summer Workshop with Mrs. Capestany
This summer, give your child the gift of focused literacy support in a small group reading and spelling workshop—designed to meet each student where they are and help them grow in fluency, comprehension, and confidence.

Incoming 1st to 3rd Grade: Into the Woods: More Watercolor Techniques with Mrs. Luke
“…then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the Lord…” (1 Chronicles 16:33). We see these trees every day. Makes you wonder if that’s why they sway so beautifully in the breeze. In our four days of art, we will be looking into the Word of God about His awesome creation of the woods, forests, and life contained in them. We will be doing three projects this week reflecting on God’s creation in watercolor. Students will learn various brush techniques and early lessons on perspective and space.

Incoming 4th to 7th Grade: The Art of Middle Earth with Mrs. Luke
Before we saw art come to motion picture life on the big screen, JR Tolkein’s writing was meant to be imagined in our minds as we read about the worlds of Middle Earth. This camp is four days of studying some of the historical illustrations over the decades and creating 2 large, unique projects based on scenes from “Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit”. We will be using various mediums to create our worlds.

Mixed Media Camp with Mrs. Kaufman
This five-day art camp will introduce students to mixed media techniques (abstract painting, printing, mark-making), collage composition, and bookmaking through an Explosion Book project. Each day builds upon the previous day’s skills, culminating in 1-2 completed Explosion Books. Time permitting, there may be opportunity to explore other mixed media projects.

Creative Writing with Mr. Hansen
One of the most popular genres of fiction and film over the past twenty years has been in speculative fiction: Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Alternate History. In this class, we will discover tools for successful speculative fiction writing, from world-building, character design, “historical” background, and more. We will mostly cover all the background work that helps create the most engaging story writing. We will also discuss the publishing world, both New York publishing houses, agents, editors, and self-publishing.

Center Stage: Character in Action: Ms. Harwood with Mrs. Pedersen
Every great performance starts with a great character. Students will journey into the heart of acting — building layered characters and delivering powerful monologues or scenes in a final showcase. Great preparation for mainstage auditions!

Wilderness Survival Skills with Mr. Lukkasson
Calling all young men! Our forefathers were men who knew how to brave the wilderness to protect and provide for their families. We will honor their legacy by seeking to learn some of the skills that served them so well in taking dominion over the creation that God has given us. We’ll practice the skills of orienteering, building shelters, starting fires, crafting survival tools, and more, and you’ll even end the week with a few survival tools of your own to take home!

Filmmaking 101 with Mr. Pedersen
Learn dramatic filmmaking from professional producer and cinematographer, Mr. Chan Pedersen. Participate in writing, directing, acting, cinematography, and editing to produce a festival-ready short film in just four days. Use professional cameras and audio gear, learn film acting from a working actress, and have a blast doing it all!

Creative Projects Using Line with Mrs. Bontrager
Students will explore a diversity of ways to use and make line as part of their creative process. Students will experiment with common and unconventional techniques, expanding their notion of line. From creating texture, to defining space, to establishing rhythm, students will come away from this week with a greater understanding of and appreciation for the element of line.
