Kyla grew up in Nacogdoches, TX on a chicken farm with 9 siblings, and she attended an ACCS school from which she graduated in 2016. She then went to New Saint Andrews College where she taught Latin part-time and coached middle school and high school girls’ volleyball. Kyla married her husband, Russell (a Providence alum), and while she misses her family, she is thankful to have swapped the humidity of East Texas for the gray and the mountains of the Northwest.

Her lifelong goals include learning to read the Bible in Hebrew, developing secondary curricula for Classical Christian Economics and Government classes, and learning the electric guitar. Her heroes include John Steinbeck and Thomas Sowell, and when she is not reading those two, she enjoys beating her husband at cards and listening to Chicago.
