Providence Classical Christian School

Admissions

As a discipleship-oriented school, Providence seeks to partner with Christian parents. A student’s education flourishes when both parents and the school share the same goals for an education that places Christ and his Word at the center of all learning.

 Testing for Students

Entering Pre-K and Kindergarten

Q.

What, where, and when is testing offered to Pre-K and Kindergarten candidates?

A.

The Grammar school principal and the classroom teacher administer a Pre-K or Kindergarten entry test in a one-on-one session. No special preparation is necessary; this developmental readiness assessment is given in a caring and non-threatening manner on campus. Testing is scheduled after the family has observed the Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms.

Q.

How is Kindergarten testing scheduled?

A.

The interview and testing will be arranged after the family has submitted the application materials and observed in the classroom. Upon receipt of your child's application materials, the admissions coordinator will contact you by phone or email to schedule testing. Observations are best between 8:15 – 9:30 AM, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday.

Q.

How long will the test session last?

A.

Assessment tests for students from new families are combined with the family interview, and generally take about an hour. Testing usually is completed in about 30 minutes for a family currently enrolled at Providence.

Q.

Who should attend the interview and test session?

A.

New families to Providence need to have both parents in attendance. For current families with a new student, only one parent is required to attend.

Q.

What does my child need to bring?

A.

Nothing. The test administrator will provide all that is needed.

Q.

When will we get the test results?

A.

The administrator and teacher will review the test results and notify you of acceptance as soon as possible, generally within two weeks.
