Jason Alcon To the Families of Providence Classical Christian School: By now, I suspect some of you may know me as the President of the PTF or simply as Kindergarten “Dad” to Madison Alcon. My wife Kristen and I have four children. Madison is five. Sean, our second child, is home with Jesus after spending four months with us. Our son Ethan is two, and Gracie is eight months. This is our first year at Providence and we already feel very much a part of the Providence family. I’m pleased to have the opportunity to be considered as a Providence Board Member, and if I’m elected I will do my very best to promote the mission and vision of the school. My wife and I are fully committed to our children’s education and believe wholeheartedly in the Mission of Providence. With a degree in Business Administration, a former United States Marine and a certified Project Management Professional I believe I have a lot to offer Providence in this capacity:
I am a committed follower of Jesus Christ, a devoted husband and dedicated father – which is much more important than any technical certification. Kristen and I would appreciate your prayerful consideration on this important decision. Should you have any questions or comments please feel free to email me at jason.alcon@convergys.com or call me on my mobile phone at 425-205-3909. Regardless of where I serve at Providence, Kristen and I look forward to pursuing academic excellence for our children in joyful submission to the Lord Jesus Christ. Sincerely, Jason Alcon

Jeff Mau I have been married for ten years to my wife, Vicki. We have a five year old daughter, Lauren, who is finishing Pre-K, and a seven month old daughter, Kate. For the past five years, I have worked as a police officer for the City of Lynnwood. My History with Providence About twelve years ago Vicki and I started exploring the idea of Christian education. She was finishing her teaching credential at Seattle Pacific University, and I was entertaining the idea of becoming a school teacher. We met a group of parents at our church, Trinity Church, who had just started a small school called Providence Classical Christian School. Quickly, we became convinced that a thoroughly Christian and classical education was what we wanted for our family. Once she finished her student teaching, Vicki started as the secondary English and Literature teacher at Providence, and I taught US History and Logic while I finished my History degree at the University of Washington. Since the beginning, Vicki and I have loved the school and have been strong supporters of Providence. Vicki stepped away from teaching when we had Lauren. However, we continued to stay involved. I coached the Boys’ basketball team for the first two years of the program, and we continued to attend other school events. We are once again excited to be part of Providence and partner with the school in the process of educating our children. How I Can Help Providence I take the education of my children seriously. My first priority for an educational institution is one that assists me in raising up saints that love God and seek Him before anything else. Additionally, a school should ingrain in children a love for the process of learning and provide them with the skills to continue that process throughout their lives. I desire to serve on the board to help maintain the integrity of the Christian and classical education offered at Providence and to improve this education in the years to come. I can best serve the school and the board in the following ways: · Christian Principles: As a Christian man who desires to lead his family in raising up his children in the fear and admonition of the Lord, and as someone that passionately holds to the doctrines set forth in Providence’s Statement of Faith, I will bring a sober and grounded voice to the board as we consider issues that affect the school today and in the future. · Classical Methodology: I have been interacting with the idea of classical education for over a decade. With a strong understanding of what a classical education is, I will continue to promote these principles to further the education of our children. · Curriculum Development: A specific interest of mine is helping the school to enhance the current curriculum and achieve our goals in the Five Year Vision. We love this school and look forward to the opportunity to serve for years to come. Thank you for prayerfully considering this important decision. If you have further questions or comments for me, please feel free to contact me by email at jeffreymau@gmail.com or by phone at 206-817-1230. Thank you and God bless, Jeff Mau |
