Regular board meeting, 7:30pm, Monday, 12/19/05

:: Opened in prayer at 7:40pm

 

:: Regular Business:

-          Approve minutes from October: approved

-          Request of Mr. Adair to provide updates on progress on 2005/06 goals at next exec meeting on January 9, 2006.

 

:: December Agenda:

            Discuss Chapter 1 of "Boardroom Confidence"

-          Mr. England still needing to get the book. Will discuss at the next meeting.

 

            Develop and distribute communication re. monthly all school meetings

-          Letter to be sent to parents letting them know about a regularly scheduled meeting for all parents to attend and speak to the board. First meeting set for Tuesday, January 31, 2006. 2nd meeting tentatively set for Tuesday, February 28, 2006. First topic will be for student retention and enrollment growth.

 

            2005/2006 tuition

-          Mr. Adair to prepare budget and tuition projections for the board prior to the next regular meeting in January. Board to set tuition at the next regular meeting in January. Action: Mr. Adair to distribute projects 1st week of January to the Board.

 

            Review 5 year goals

-          Mr. Schaefer started review of current 5-year goals. Some discussion on starting to develop parents' understanding of ACCS and our school.

 

Board calendar and meetings for remainder of school year

-          Next executive meeting is Monday, January 9, 2006, and next regular meeting on Monday, January 16, 2006. Next regular meeting will be a discussion on tuition and Policy 9.6.

-          Mr. Adair: discussion for next month about ex-officio membership.

-          Review and revise the 5-year goals for Providence.
