The following events or benchmarks summarize the timetable for major activities of the Board

       during a one year period beginning in July:

      

                  July                 Review planned budget, based on enrollment to date.

                                         Make any changes in development goals.

                                         Review Board Calendar.

                                         Election of Board officers for upcoming year.

 

                  August            Review all facility needs.

                                         Make any decisions regarding maintenance.

                                         Review content of Bylaws and Policy Manual.

                                         Ensure policy manual is ready for staff orientation.

                                         Review and approve administrative goals.

 

                  September     Have policy manual available for families.

 

                  October          Determine facility needs for next year.

 

                  November      Examine operating budget to date and compare to budget.

                                         Plan for any necessary adjustments.

 

                  December      Review and revise five-year goals.

 

                  January           Establish goals for the next school year.

                                         Schedule date for June Board retreat.

                                         Operating budget for the next year submitted to the Board (cf. Bylaws,

                                         Article X).

 

                  February         Approve budget for next year.

                                          Solicit nominations for expired elected Board positions.

 

                  March              Assess returning staff and staffing needs.

                                          Begin interviews for new staff.

                                          Review handbook and make policy revisions necessary for publication.

                                          Vetting of nominations/candidates for elected Board positions.

 

                  April                 Review and set school calendar for the next year.

                                          Establish development goals for next year.

                                          Conduct school evaluation.

                                          Conduct evaluation of the School Administrator.

                                          Send out Board ballots to school families no later than April 15.

 

                  May                 Finalize any decisions regarding changes for the fall opening.

                                          Review annual national standardized test scores.

                                          Appoint new Board members.

 

                  June                Meet for annual Board retreat.
