HIGHLANDER ATHLETICS

"Whatever you do (in word or deed)
do it all to the glory of God."

It is often quoted and frequently ignored.  What does it mean?  It means that our purpose in the activity is not to bring glory and honor to ourselves.  We are not to seek the praise of man.  We are not to exalt our own abilities.  We are not to seek after selfish ambitions or vain conceits.  It means that we pursue excellence because it reflects God's character.  This pursuit is an opportunity to recognize our own sin, to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit in another activity, to praise God with our total being, and to thank God for how He has made us and what he has provided for us.
