History Of PCCS

Our Past

In 1997 a small group of fathers started Providence Classical Christian School.  Their hope was to educate their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord within a classical Christian framework.  These men, and the families that later joined with them, desired a school that would teach their children to think biblically about God and His creation, about loving Him with all their minds, about imitating his commands in their actions and about learning to be like Him in all their ways.

The first classes were held two days per week in a small church basement in Bellevue, Washington.  We had eighteen students and four teachers.  Third and fourth, fifth and sixth, and seventh and eighth grades were combined that first year.  It was a small beginning.  How the Lord has blessed our growth!

Our Present

We are now accredited as a charter member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS). Today we offer our program to 175 students meeting five days a week in classes spanning Pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.  On top of our core secondary course offerings of English, Math, Science, Bible, and History, we also provide classes at the secondary level in art and music. Extra-curricular activities include girls' volleyball, boys' basketball, co-ed track and field and drama.

Our Future

We continue growing in our understanding of what it means to be a classical Christian school serving families and students, and we look forward to seeing our graduates serving in the calling that God has for them wherever He may place them.  We also look forward to their growing into faithful Christian leaders in their community and in their homes.
